HANOVER Andrew M. "Andy" Wertz, 56, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home. He was the loving husband of Dana (Pearce) Wertz, Hanover. Together they would have celebrated 23 years of marriage on April 17, 2013. He was born December 9, 1956, in Hanover the son of the late Gerald M. and Olga (Newburg) Wertz. Andy graduated from East Stroudsburg University and was a dedicated, highly respected Physics teacher at Littlestown High School for 30 years. While teaching at Littlestown, he also served as a football and basketball coach. Andy was a "jack of all trades", a true handy man, who enjoyed music, electronics and Penn State football. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Maxwell, Nikolas, Alexander and Tyson Wertz all of Hanover; step-son, Chad Eyler, Hanover, sister, Virginia Wilson, Reno, Nev., brother, Gerald "Jay" Wertz, Jr. and his wife Noemy, Phillips Ranch, Calif.; mother-in-law, Violet M. Pearce, Hanover, father-in-law, Chester R. Pearce, Taneytown, Md.; brother-in-law, Doug Pearce, McSherrystown and brother-in-law, Daryl Pearce, Taneytown, Md. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 3 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 890 McCosh St., Hanover with Father Fred Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends and share memories from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew M.
