John R. Trone

GETTYSBURG John R. Trone, 82, formerly of Hanover, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Genesis Health Care, Gettysburg Center. He was the loving husband of Betty (Potts) Trone, who died May 22, 2000. He was born November 9, 1929, in Hanover, the son of the late Melvin A. and Gertie (Stump) Trone. Mr. Trone was a mason and retired from Black and Decker, Hampstead, MD. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, the Hanover Moose, the Republican Club, Hanover and the American Legion Post 14, Hanover. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Zumbrum and her husband, Gale of Hanover; son, Charles R. Trone of Bunell, Fla.; brother, Burnell D. Trone, Manchester, Md.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Marburg Memorial Gardens, 2510 Grandview Road, Hanover, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating.
