Howard H. Trite, Jr.

Palmyra - Howard H. Trite, Jr., 92 of Palmyra, PA, formerly of Harrisburg, PA, passed away September 26, 2019, at the Middletown Home. Born May 21, 1927 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Howard H. Trite, Sr. and Almeda (Corbin) Trite.

Howard was a member of the class of 1945 of Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA and served in the U.S. Navy. After 41 years, he retired from Metropolitan Edison Co. as the District Manager in Dillsburg, PA. Prior to his move to the area, Howard served as an Elder at Monaghan Presbyterian Church in Dillsburg, PA. He was also a member of the Dillsburg Lions Club and served on the Advisory Board of New Hope Ministries and the Board of Directors for the Senior Center.

Due to several relocations with Met-Ed, Howard hat the opportunity to serve as President of the Southwestern School Board in Hanover, PA, as well as an Elder at Grace United Church of Christ, plus many civic organizations. He also served on the Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Bangor, PA; the United Way Board of Directors of Northumberland and Warren Counties; Pen Argyl Exchange Club; and as an Elder at Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap, PA. Since the move, Howard and his wife, Mary Anne, served with the Evangelism Committee and the Derry Seniors. They both did volunteer work at the Hershey Medical Center.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Anne Trite; sons, Thomas (Virginia) of Harrisburg, PA, and Randall (Denise) of Blandon, PA; grandsons, Andrew of Summerville, SC, and Adam of Breinigsville, PA; granddaughters, Amy of Harrisburg, PA, Sarah of Hoboken, NJ, and Megan of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Kessler of York, PA, and Jackie Becker of OK.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
