GETTYSBURG Robert C. Hartman, Sr., 67, entered into God's eternal care on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Gettysburg Hospital. Born November 3, 1945 in Trenton, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Beryl (Cook) Hartman. He was the loving husband of the late Harriet (Pritchard) Hartman. Robert served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired from the trucking industry after 25 years of service. Mr. Hartman was a member of the American Legion Post #46 of Conway, New Hampshire as well as the American Association of Retired Persons. Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert Hartman, Jr. of Hanover and George Hartman of New Hampshire; his three daughters, Sandy Beatty and her husband Mark of Hanover, Dawn Renaut and her husband Keith of Hanover, and Leah Hartman of New Hampshire; 18 grandchildren, Mark Sutherland, Jr., Joshua Keeter and his wife Kayla, David Hartman, Sara Foster, Corey Klein, McKenzie Hartman, Sara Hartman, Dylan Hartman, Isaac Hartman, Haley Hartman, Adam Wertz, Natasha Hood, Alexis Hartman, Robert Hartman, III, Tayea Hartman, Dakota Hartman, Savannah Hartman, Veronica Hartman; four great-grandchildren, Alivia Sutherland, Joshua Keeter, Jr., Kylie Keeter, Kloie Keeter; and his brother, Jack Hartman of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hanover Community Church, 1959 Smith Station Road, Hanover, with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, PA 17331 to help to defray funeral expenses.
