Robert H. Smith Obituary
HANOVER Robert H. Smith, 85, formerly of Satellite Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hanover Hall. He was the loving husband of the late Faustina Smith. Born August 29, 1928, in New Oxford, he was a son of the late Curtis J. and Lillian M. (Pentz) Smith. Robert graduated in 1946 from Delone Catholic High School and then went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. Robert loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed tennis, swimming, and traveling. Mr. Smith is survived by three children, daughter, Michelle Green and her husband, Mark of Hanover, son, Martin C. Smith and his wife, Jeannie of York, and son, Mitchell S. Smith and his wife, Melissa of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Marie Groft and Shirley Myers, both of New Oxford; three grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 36 step great-grandchildren; and eight step great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Michael Smith; a sister, Doris Smith; a brother, Richard Smith; and his first wife, Charlotte Smith. The family will receive friends to share memories of Robert on Wednesday May 14, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover 17331.
