William T. Fortney, Sr
Abbottstown
William T. "Bill" Fortney, Sr, 83, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of Betty V. (Zartman) Fortney, his wife of 59 years, who died December 23, 2012.
Bill was born June 22, 1934, in Newport, the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (White) Fortney.
Bill was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown.
Bill is survived by two sons, William T. "Junnie" Fortney, Jr. and his wife, Tina of New Oxford, and Jay A. Fortney of York; two grandchildren, Tori Dell and her husband, Jason of Auburn, CA, and D.J. Fortney of Hanover; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron Dell of Statesville, NC and Sandy Dell of Auburn, CA.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Church Cemetery, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with his pastor, Rev. Shawn Berkebile officiating. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
