God bless Merle for giving me my first job at Carlisle St. Gulf. It supported me entirely until I joined the Navy in 1963.Greatest man I ever knew. I hung out at the Gulf from 13 till 18 years old.He even let me drive the old orange GMC tow truck the Gulf used. Best times of my child hood.Amen

Our friendship goes back to 1957 when Merle had the station on York St. This was my hangout place with my 57 Chevy and Cal Reichart was the employee with his 56 Chevy. We spent tons of time together having fun. Merle was one of a special kind in my heart whom I will forever remember.
RIP, My dear friend
