ARKPORT - Eric A. Buisch, 50, of Bishopville Road (Town of Hornellsville), passed away unexpectedly Monday (Oct. 1, 2018).

Born in Hornell on Nov. 11, 1967, he was the son of Adrian Buisch, who predeceased him, and Rosalie (Libordi) Tobin, who survives.

He enjoyed spending time with his family cruising in his Mustang GT, traveling (especially to the Outer Banks), camping, snow shoeing and watching his children participate in athletics. Eric will be remembered as being a very sociable person who loved to talk to people and share with them his witty personality.

His loving family includes his wife of 21 years, the former Laura Johnson, who he married at St. Mary's Church in Bath on Oct. 11, 1997; his daughter, Elizabeth Buisch and his son, Evan Buisch, both at home; his mother and step-father, Rosalie and John Tobin of Hornell; his three brothers, Mark (Kelly) Buisch of Hornell, Geoffrey Buisch of the State of Washington and Adrian (Kristin) Buisch of Rochester; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allan and Maureen Johnson of Bath; as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eric was always so great to my family, most recently helping with my mom's transition to Elderwood. He made my brother, sister, and brother and law feel so comfortable in the support she was getting there. I will remember him smiling or always laughing. So sorry to hear of his loss, my thoughts are with his family.

My heart goes out to Eric's family. Eric was my director when we both were at the Arc. He always was a support, even when I was leaving the agency. He knew how to make everyone laugh. I will forever miss his daily weather reports, football talks, and our conversations. Rest easy Eric.

Dear Laura,
It is with sincere heavy heart that I send my thoughts to you and your children during this difficult time. As a teenager, I felt lucky to have had one big brother who surrounded me with his amazing friends that made me feel surrounded with many "brothers" that were always looking out for me. Eric was one of those "brothers" that was always so genuine with his smile, respect and overall whit with our family that I have such great memories to this day. He was a great guy and great friend to Matt! Although I can't be there to tell you this in person, please know I am thinking of you!!

Dearest Laura and family,
The last time I saw you and Eric was at Libby's soccer game against Alfred-Almond, Eric made a specific effort to have her picture taken with Avery since it would be the last soccer game that they would face each other. You and Eric always spoke to me with kindness whenever I would run into you after Tom and I separated. I will never forget his kindness and love for his family most of all. My heart breaks for you and your kids.

Eric was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Hornell in 1995, when he worked at the Redemption Center. We stayed friends for nearly 25 years and, despite the distance, whenever we saw each other, he was quick with love and an inside joke. Just three weeks ago, we were laughing on a private Facebook message, sharing parenting silliness. I can't believe this world still spins without an Eric Buisch in it. Laura, I am thinking about you. Hugs to you, my old friend.

Toasting the dudes before an annual meeting
Eric was fun loving and had the ability to see the positive side of life. He had an unrivaled zest for life and loved so many things,:Laura, his children whom he was very proud of, his mom and dad, brothers and friends,Hornell area, the people he tirelessly served at the ARC and his team there, his cars, Kyboto, good beer and food that did not include any vegetables, Superman, his pizza oven, dog, Seinfeld, traveling, telling great stories and good jokes. His impersonations were the best! The world seems an emptier place without him already. Dude! I love you and will miss you.
