Dr Nunneley taught me how to think, how to make an argument. At first I thought him arrogant, then I learned he was a very thoughtful man who lived in a world that wasn't. He changed the way I see the world, Thank You Dick, you will live on in my work and that of many others.

The gathering today for Dick at the University of Minnesota was attended by many, many friends who told wonderful stories about his integrity and the profound impact that he had on their lives, his wonderful music, and his commitment to students. There will be another memorial gathering in Minnesota organized by his friends in music in the next week.

Dick Nunneley taught the social justice course in my doctoral coursework. What I learned from him changed the way I look at the world and impacted the way I administered schools and now what I teach my own graduate students. HIs lessons live on in others.
