Patricia Ann Petre Surber (Mrs. Frank Barry) was born March 4, 1933, in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of Kansas City Junior College. She was married to Frank Barry Surber on June 6, 1953 in Kansas City.

Patricia departed this life on December 28, 2018.

Patricia was a member of the National Association of Registered Parliamentarians since 1969 and served as a state and national officer of the organization for many years. She authored several publications on parliamentary procedure for various groups. Patricia was a member of a wide variety of other civic and genealogy-based organizations. She was especially proud of her association with the Daughters of the American Revolution, with which she served as Chapter Regent and as National Parliamentarian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie Helen Seymour Petre (d. 1993) and Elvin Mark "Mike" Petre (d. 1974), husband Frank Barry Surber (d. 2001), and sister Peggy Arlene Petre (d. 1947).

She is survived by her daughters Peggy Ann Surber Brooks Brown; Mary Jayne Surber Bain & son-in-law David Russell Bain; four grandchildren Steven Matthew Brooks (Danielle), Independence, MO; Sandra Elizabeth Bain, Columbia, MO, Christen Marie Bain (CN Anderson), Des Moines IA, and John Alexander Bain (Amanda), Kansas City, MO.

Visitation will be 9 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Pat's nephew, Father Galen Snodgrass, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Chapter of One Good Meal, or to Independence Pioneers Chapter NSDAR Scholarship Fund.
