Obituary Condolences

FAYETTEVILLE - Jack Monroe "Coach" Peacock, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Peacock retired from the U.S. Army in 1967. He then worked at the Fort Bragg Printing Plant until 1988. He coached baseball at Honeycutt Park for many years. Upon his retirement, he was an athletics volunteer at Terry Sanford High School and maintained the sports fields. He is survived by his sister, Louise Peacock Townsend of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Burial will take place Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Muirs Chapel UMC in Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Coach Peacock Baseball Memorial Fund, 126 Broadfoot Ave., Fayetteville, NC 28305. Services entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service of Fayetteville.
