Eleanor (McMunn) Rychener, 93, of Archbold, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, after a 2 ½ month battle with COVID-19. Eleanor was born April 3, 1927, to the late Hal and Margaret (Lore) Caswell in Ogdon Township, Mich. She married Dale Rychener in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1987. In 1998, she married Wayne McMunn, and he preceded her in death.

Eleanor was born and raised in a Christian home, and she accepted Christ as a young girl. She spent eight years in a one-room country school in Ogden, Mich., then graduated from Blissfield High School in 1944. Eleanor also attended Huntington College for two years. For about 30 years, she worked for Gendron Corporation as a floor supervisor, and was also very involved in scouting for many years. Eleanor belonged to Archbold Evangelical Church for over 68 years, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School.

She and Wayne spent their summers in Archbold and their winters in Bradenton, Fla. The latest highlight in Eleanor's life was on Feb. 8, 2021. While recovering at Fairlawn, Jesse Kahler came in and preformed a faith baptism for her, after she gladly shared her testimony!

From her marriage to Dale, Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Christine (Brian) King of Archbold; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois (Barry) Peebles; and many special nieces and nephews. From her marriage to Wayne, she is survived by three stepchildren, John (Barb) McMunn, Leisa (Lawrence) Onweller, and Kathie (Ken) Hofstra; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Earl (Marilyn) McMunn.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger D. Rychener, in 1975; and a sister, Dora (Bob) Kelty.
