Maria Bella Zuniga, 77, was called home on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Seguin, Texas. She was born in Raymondville, Texas, on Aug. 17, 1943, to the late Manuel Fonseca and Ester Pedraza. She married Baldemar Zuniga, and he survives.

Bella was loved by many and will be missed by many, but while here on Earth she made a great impression on those she crossed paths with. Bella was always known as a kind and giving person, and for those who knew her well knew she was one of the best cooks around. She would never let anyone leave her house hungry. Bella took pride in her family, enjoyed gardening, traveling, being outdoors, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Bella also instilled in her family that family and faith are two very important values in life. And to always be sure that those traditions live on.

Also surviving are her children, Linda (Jeff) Mellon, Deanna Martinez, Jose Martinez Jr., Hector Martinez, Rebecca Martinez, Susana McLeod, Teresa (Matt) Wickersham, Laurel (Quinn) Frank, and Martha Zuniga; siblings, Ruben Fonseca, Robert (Jennie) Fonseca, Ramiro (Jan) Fonseca, Raul (Mary) Fonseca, Norma Tellez, Arturo (Leota) Pedraza, Letty (Bob) Moon, Sylvia (Chris) Damko, and Maggie (Frank) Avina; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 33 nephews and nieces; and a host of great-nephews and great-nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her sons, Israel Martinez and David Martinez; and great-grandson, Ezekiel Reaster.

A funeral service in memory of Maria Bella Zuniga will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at St Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon. Interment of ashes will immediately follow at St Caspar Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit 9-10 a.m. Saturday at St Caspar Catholic Church, where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. The family will also receive guests 2-4 p.m. at the church's Parish Life Center.
