Berenz, Claude E. (1933-2013)

Claude E. Berenz, age 79, of 529 Bishop Ave, Plymouth, passed away early Friday morning (March 29) surrounded by his loving family at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past three years.

He was born on July 28, 1933 in Fond du Lac, WI, son of the late Matt and Margaret Feldner Berenz. Claude attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School.

On September 26, 1959 he married Alice Davis in St. Cloud. The couple lived in Plymouth area since their marriage.

Claude served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1956.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Claude was employed for 34 years in the shipping department at Gilson, Lawn Boy and Toro Company and also RH Versch Company in Plymouth.

Claude enjoyed lawn work, gardening, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years: Alice of Plymouth, Special nephew: John (Sue) Berenz of Plymouth, One sister: Dorothy Schmitz of St. Cloud, One brother-in-law: Donald Sippel of St. Cloud, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: LeRoy (Rawleen) Sippel of St. Cloud and also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Claude was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Orrin and Georgia Davis, three sisters: Aldine Sippel, Ermina Schaub and Angelita Schmitz; two brothers: Harold Berenz and Alfred Berenz, three brothers-in-law: Elmer Schmitz, Leander Schmitz and Alois Schaub and two sister-in-laws: Ellen Berenz and Dolores Berenz.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday Morning (April 3) at 11:00 A.M. at St. Isidore Catholic Church in St. Cloud, WI. Father Bernard Sippel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Cloud Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Tuesday (April 2) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. and at the CHURCH on Wednesday morning (April 3) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.

The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites at the cemetery following the Mass on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Claude's name for the Plymouth Fire Department or the Plymouth Ambulance Service.
