Sandra Mertens

Fond du Lac - Sandra Mertens, 67, went to her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1954 in Fond du Lac, WI to Harold and Dorothy Patchett.

Sandy graduated from Oakfield High School in 1972. She finished her career as a Customer Sales Rep at International Paper after 23 years.

Sandy married Mile Mertens, the love of her life, on September 1, 1997 in Las Vegas.

Sandy was best known for her love of golf, traveling with Miles and caring for everyone around her.

Sandy is survived by her husband Miles; daughter, Lisa (Jim) Huebner; son, Travis (Jessica) Mertens; and grandchildren, Gannon Huebner, Aidric Mertens, Oceanna Mertens and Marix Mertens. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Patchett; sister, Barbara Ryan; sister-in-law, Marlene Theisen; brother-in-law, John Theisen; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Patchett; brother-in-law, David Ryan and mother and father-in-law, LaJune Mertens and Frank Mertens.

A private family memorial service was held, cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Calvary Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Sandy's name to Fond du Lac Humane Society, 652 Triangle Rd, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
