Wennegene "Wyn" (Sabel) Wilbrecht

Prairie Ridge - Wennegene "Wyn" (Sabel) Wilbrecht passed away on April 7, 2021 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville, WI at age 91.

Wyn was born on October 3, 1929 to William and Emma (Franzen) Sabel in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the youngest of 5 children. She graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1947. Wyn was married to Carl Wilbrecht in October 1950 in Detroit MI. They moved to Mayville, WI in the 1960's where they lived until 1976. In Mayville, Wyn worked in offices where she did bookkeeping including the Mayville Co-op, and Service Print. In 1992 they retired to NW Arkansas where they enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing, church activities, and many get togethers with friends. After Carl died in 1996, Wyn forged ahead and became an avid traveler both in the United States and abroad. She had a wonderful group of friends in Bella Vista, AR with whom she loved to travel, tap dance, golf, play cards and mahjong. In 2007, Wyn moved to Oakwood Prairie Ridge Retirement Community in Madison, WI where she again had an active social life and made many lifelong friends. Wyn had many talents like knitting, sewing, painting, writing, baking and she loved to play Candy Crush on her iPad. She was always sharp, witty, and loved to give advice, even at the end of her life.

Wyn is survived by her 3 daughters- Karla (John) Magyar, Carol Rach, and Karen Wilbrecht; 4 grandchildren - Sarah (Dustin) Fester, Kyle Rach, Kurt (Ingrid) Magyar, and Michael (Paula) Magyar; 5 great grandchildren -Layne, Scarlett, Aryana, Ian, and Roman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, an infant son Kurt, her husband Carl, and son-in-law Mark Rach. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Wyn's family and friends are near and far.

At her request, a private graveside service will be held at the Brownsville Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the care given by Prairie Ridge Assisted Living and Generations Hospice.
