Thompson, Samuel Mt. Morris Township Age 57, died Saturday, February 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held 6 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 12 PM until time of service at the funeral home on Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to charity of one's choice. Mr. Thompson was born in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late D. V. and Anita (Harvey) Thompson. Sam married Sharon Porter on November 25, 1978 in Flint. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and fishing. Sam worked for and was a member of Iron workers Local 25 since 1986. Surviving are: wife, Sharon of Mt. Morris Twp.; children, Crystal (Michael) Mathews of Burton, Tony (Alisha) Thompson of Mt. Morris Twp., Angela Thompson of Mt. Morris Twp., Travis (Daniella) Thompson of New Mexico; grandchildren, Kurstin, Ethan, Wyatt, Zoe, Clair, Hayden, Gunner and Madison. Sam is also survived by his siblings, Dee (Judy) Thompson, Jerry (Faye) Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Larry Thompson, Diane Willis, Jody (Randy) Bowen, Danny Thompson, Billy Thompson, Martha (Ray) Hillier; many nieces and nephews.
