To The Ellis Family.. Mr. Johnny was a very special man, When my son was in high school Mr Johnny did a newspaper arictle about him and he was very proud of my son's ability to do the things that he was doing at a very young age. He always had a kind word and also took the time to speak to my son whenever he saw him. Your loss is deeply felt.My prayers are with you and may God Bless each and everyone of you.

I was deeply sadden when I heard that Mr. Johnny had passed.
In reading about the way he used light in his photography, brings me back to 20 years ago about this same time when he took my wedding photos. I can remember it being a brezy Sunday afternoon and having all of us pose with my beautiful white wedding dress and dirty old riding boots by the ivey trailist at his fathers home.
May you find pease in all the wonderfull memories you all share as I will allways remember him laughing and hugging everyone he knew.

To the Family of Mr. John Ellis: I would like to express my condolences in the passing of Mr. Ellis. I saw him many times at the Lake View ball games and knew Trooper John Ellis well. I can now honestly say that I know how you are feeling as I have just lost my father to cancer this past week. May peace be with you all in this time of sorrow until you can be with Mr. John again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Mr. Johnny right after college, when I started working at the Weekly Observer in Hemingway. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. He was such a nice person. He'll be missed.

For many years Johnny was my mentor as he was the finest news photographer I ever knew. When he went to the Star, he transformed the paper into a new area of journalistic excellence through his professional attitude and sense of composition in his photographs. He was also an excellent father and husband. My wife and I were fortunate to have taught Marcie and John, two bright, vibrant and talented young people who have gone on to make a positive impact on the communities they serve. To Geraldine and the children, we wish God's peace on your homes. With your sadness take some time to reflect on the unique and special person who was your father and husband. His death saddens me, but I am confident his life has earned him an eternal place of serenity free from the constraints of this earth. We bid a reluctant goodbye to Johnny, but his legacy lives on through his family and the good works he did for us all.
