LENDOL CRESPIN HICKS Sr.

LENDOL CRESPIN HICKS, SR. FLORENCE, SC - Lendol Crespin Hicks, Sr., died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence after an illness. Mr. Hicks was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Edward O'Donald and Lena Weaver Hicks. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a member of the Omar Shrine in Dillon, SC and the Mackey Lodge #77. He retired as a mechanic after more than 25 years with Dixiana in Dillon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Catherine Wileford Hicks, who died in 1991; his second wife, Patricia Benton Hicks, who died in 2005; sisters, Mildred Hatchell and Eddie Lou Hancock. Surviving are his son, Lendol C. (Dale) Hicks, Jr. of Columbia, SC; step-sons, Perry (Dora) Benton of Florence and Terry (Lorinda) Richter of Greenwood, SC; step-daughter, Cherri (Billy) Barrineau of Florence and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church Building Fund, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC 29541. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Evergreen Baptist Church. A private burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon, SC directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence.
