PEARL LAVINIA THOMY

Mrs. Pearl Lavinia Thomy LAKE CITY - Mrs. Pearl Lavinia Thomy, 88, died Saturday, March 16, at her residence. She was born in Florence, on February 28, 1925, the only child of Anna Suber Gasque and Henry Pearlie Gasque. She was a homemaker, well-known business-woman and personality, and resident of Lake City for 72 years since her marrage in 1941 to Vincent A. (Sonny) Thomy, who predeceased her in 1999. She is survived by her long-time and devoted companion, Mel Shatzel; her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnna and Fritz McElveen of Columbia and Lake City; her son Dr. Vincent A. Thomy, Jr. of Washington, DC and many friends and acquaintances who will remember her outgoing personality and wit. The family expresses special appreciation and graditude for the compassionate care given by Sandy, Adeline and Herlanda of Caris Hospice, Wanda Wilson and Dr. Davis Rodriguez. Relatives and friends may call at Brockington Funeral Home at 122 W. Thomas Street in Lake City on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 6-8:00 P. M. A Graveside funeral service, officiated by the Reverends Emmett L Patrick and Gusta G. Ganes, and interment will be held at 11:00A.M. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery, 100 Cherokee Road in Florence.
