Rene M. Bourgeault, 82, went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012. Born in Central Falls, RI, he was the son of the late Ovila and Edoula Bourgeault.
Rene served in both the Korean War, in which he was awarded the Bronze Star and also the Vietnam War, in which he was awarded a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf cluster, and Sharpshooter (M-14 rifle). He retired from the US Army after 20 years of service in 1968.
His family includes his late wife, Virginia Bourgeault; daughter, Laure Ervin; son, Rene Bourgeault, II; daughter, Vicki Calicchia and her husband, Domenic; grandchildren, Matthew Ervin, Jennifer Caillier, Corinne Lester, and Aaron Bourgeault; and six great grandchildren.
Private services will be held in Rhode Island.
