Andrew James Sharpe, 89, youngest of five sons of Ches and Carmen Sharpe, born at Southmere (Mims), FL, departed this life Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Lake City, FL. He was a WWII Veteran, S/Sgt in Co H, 20th Inf of the Sightseeing 6th Infantry Division. He saw active duty in New Guinea, Manila, and Luzon, in the Phillipines, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a Master Mason and Member of Indian River Lodge No. 90. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and citrus grower who lived in his orange grove. He was Game Warden after WWII and in 1956 he began a career at CCAFS for Pan Am as a Firefighter/Driver, & retired after 31 yrs of service. Until his recent illness, he was an active member of First Baptist Church of Aurantia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, and is survived by his children, Cathy Wilson (Herbert), Dennis Sharpe (Becky), and Molly Sharpe. He was a proud grandfather of five, and great-grandfather of five. He is also survived by his beloved dog / companion, Ruby Ann.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 11th at North Brevard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 12th at First Baptist Church of Aurantia. Burial will follow in La Grange Cemetery. Please sign Mr. Sharpe's guestbook at
