In Loving memory of Mr. Eugene (Gene) Powers, 81, who passed away on November 7, 2012, with the loving care of the nursing staff (especially Mike and Heather from ICU) and the Doctors of Cape Canaveral Hospital.

He was a long time resident of Cocoa, Florida moving here in 1958. Gene retired from the Cocoa Police Department as Police Chief after 32 years in 1989, and beginning as a radio dispatcher in 1958. He is loved dearly and we are all truly blessed by his presence. He will be truly missed.

Gene was a child of 15 and he was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane (Tooty) Powers; son, Mark Powers and daughter-in-law, Cindy; daughter, Debbie Powers; three grandchildren including, Courtney Harkens and husband, Joe Harkens, Trey and Bailey Powers; great-grandson, Jacen Harkens; and in February 2013, a great granddaughter. He is also survived by ten siblings and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist (on US1 and Fairmont), Saturday, at 1:00, and a memorial service will be held at 2:00.
