Gordon Copeland "Robby" Robinson(1925 - 2012)

Gordon Copeland "Robby" Robinson a retired security professional died December 18, 2012.

"Robby" was born in Philadelphia, PA, December 12, 1925. He came to Brevard County in July 1962.

He was a Navy Veteran of World War 2, serving with the Marine Corps at Guadalcanal, Guam, Okinawa and Paris Island and with the Navy at Newport News, VA and Charleston, SC. Following discharge from the military service, he attended the University of Pennsylvania. Later he served as an investigator with Pinkerton Detective Agency, US Civil Service Commission, US Air Force, and the Defense Security Service, the latter two in a contract status.

Though happy and proud in all his work, he was especially so in his assignment with NASA at the John F. Kennedy Space Center from 1962 to his retirement in 1982, as Chief of Personnel and Industrial Security. He obtained particular pleasure and pride in special assignments providing security and logistic support to visiting astronaut families during launch activities at the Space Center.

Gordon is survived by Lorraine Robinson his wife, of 66 years; two daughters, Gale Amaro and Dana Elkins; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Memorial Services will be held at Beckman- Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive Viera, FL 32955 on January 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM.
