Merlan L. Christner

Merlan L. Christner, 92, of Merritt Island, passed away of natural causes on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Huntington Place in Rockledge, FL. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland and came to Brevard in 1956 from Jackson, Michigan.

He retired from Pan American at CCAFS as a Security Guard for 29 years, and was a veteran of WWII. He was an active hobbyist involved in fishing, repairing fishing equipment; a rock hound, making his own jewelry and collecting and repairing clocks.

Merlan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice, of 67 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Carole J. Brown (Harry) and Bonnie C. Toussaint (Skip); and one brother, Harry Christner of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM, at Florida Memorial Gardens

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice in Merlan Christner's name.
