Dear Grandma Baba,

I will always remember and cherish the times I was able to spend with you. Whether it was playing a round of golf with you and family or tinkering with the various eccentric toys you always had for me to play with when I was a child, I always enjoyed being in your presence.

I will truly miss you.

Love,
Calvin

Dear Barbara,

You were always my favorite aunt. I was first aware of your domestic side -- herding goats and chickens and geese as well as us children; boiling up the biggest pots of corn I've ever seen, fresh from your garden; demonstrating that chaos is natural and life-enhancing if you have enough faith to keep your wits about you, which you always seemed to do. Only as an adult did I discover your adventurous side when we were in Virginia and you decided to accompany me to Dallas by car rather than fly back to Florida directly. We drove for two days, listening to CDs and singing and talking about life. I've never felt so free and aware of life's endless possibilities. I will miss you greatly. Love, Fran/Dixie

Dear Kathy and Family,

Although I only met your Mother once, I am reminded as parents our most impacting legacy is our children. As I read of Barbara’s many accomplishments, generous acts of service, and reflect on your life, I can only think that she is resting in peace with the knowledge that you have embraced her legacy and are accomplished, generous, and giving of service with your life.

There is a poem by Linda Ellis called The Dash, which advises us that what matters is not the date we were born or died, but how we filled that time between - the time that shows up as the dash on our tombstone.

May we all fill our dash with the beauty, dedication, energy, adventure and love that Barbara McClenon Clark did.

Dear Kathy and Family,

Wow! When I look at your mom, I see a reflection of you and I am sure it's the same for her other children.May her spirit continue to live in you as you take the torch and continue her legacy. After reading her bio and all that she has been able to accomplish, her purpose has been fulfilled. A celebration of life is most appropriate. With deep compassion for the family's lost and encouragement for what each one of you has gained from the beautiful life of your mother.
