Space Coast - Karen L. (Zackeroff) Giesey, 70, passed away unexpectedly Sunday July 1, 2018. Karen was born November 13, 1947 in Warren Ohio the oldest of 7 children to Paul Sr. and Katherine (Pantiloff) Zackeroff. Karen grew up in Warren Ohio graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1965. After graduating, Karen was employed by Packard Electric (General Motors) until she retired to become a full time loving and devoted mother.

Karen and Bob Giesey were married in 1972. They had 4 children. In 1983, Karen, Bob and children moved to the Space Coast of Florida. Karen then began her career as a pharmacy tech for Phar-Mor and Winn-Dixie. With Bob working at Kennedy Space Center and becoming manager of Kars Parks for the Space Center employees. Karen began working for the Coast Guard Exchange as Manager at Port Canaveral A.S. and for the NASA Exchange Council in retail sales. Due to illness Karen was forced to retire.

Karen was predeceased and will be welcomed in heaven by her father Paul Sr.; sister, Cathy and stepfather, Hugh Lindsey, in-laws Ray M. and Mary Ellen Giesey along with many other friends and relatives and 2 Pug companions "Pooh Bear" and "Tank II".

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband of 46 years "Geese"; sons, Jeffrey of Titusville, Anthony and Robert Jr. of Cocoa; daughter, Denise Giesey Maddy (Gary) of Lexington AL and stepdaughter Michelle R. Giesey Otte (Dan) of Lake Wells, FL; grandchildren, Matthew, Kayli, Ethan, Alyssa, Daryn, Kierston and Samantha; great grandchildren, Roman, Cameron and Brantley and Pug companion "Dunkin". Karen is also survived by her Mother, Katherine Lindsey of Warren, OH; sisters, Susan Pease (Ed) of Springfield, OH, JoAnn Holko (Ken) of Warren, OH; brothers, Paul Jr. of Okinawa Japan, Robert (Robin) of Champion, OH & Gregory (Neryvette) of Rockledge FL along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

Karen will be fondly remembered as a loving caring, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, great grandma, neighbor and friend to many. With Karen's pleasant smile and personality, she was an instant friend to all that met her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa, FL in Karen's name.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for all her family, friends and acquaintances. Karen's husband "Geese" would like to thank the family and friends for messages of condolences.
