Robert Lee Miller
Melbourne, FL
Robert Lee Miller (Bob) lived life joyously for 74 years and after a long and courageous battle with numerous health challenges, he passed from this life. He went to meet his Lord on November 21, 2013 at UF Shands Hospital in Jacksonville with his devoted wife Joyce and daughter Missy by his side. Born December 1, 1939 in Spencer, West Virginia, he lived in his beloved home state until 1967 when he moved to Melbourne to begin a 25 year career with RCA as a Computer Operator. After retiring from RCA he began a second career in civil service at Patrick Air Force Base. He then started a part-time job that turned into a 22 year labor of love at Sam's Club in West Melbourne. His warm smile and willing way were the perfect characteristics for his job as a Greeter. Bob also proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard for eight years. Playing golf was his favorite pastime but his true outdoor passion was his Goldwing Trike motorcycle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Joyce Ann Miller, his children; Allan Miller (Gina), Melissa (Missy) Miller, Robert (Bobby) Miller, grandchildren; Ryan, Bryan, Amber Miller, his precious great grandson, Andrew Phillip Harris and his sister Jane.
Bob knew no strangers and never had an unkind word for anyone. Warm, kind and sensitive, he maintained an incredibly positive attitude and displayed remarkable strength and perseverance while facing countless physical trials. He was an inspiration to many. His contagious laugh and heartwarming smile will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the
Front Street Civic Center, 4pm.

I loved working with Bob Miller. He always had a smile on his face. So easy to talk to. Every time I told him a joke, he would go, "pfft".
Such a sweet soul. He always gave me a hug when he visited Sams and saw me. Such a wonderful and respectable man. I'm glad I got to work with Bob while he was on this earth. I will definitely look for his smiling face on the other side. Thank you Bob for bringing sunshine to the job every day for your coworkers and customers, or should I say, your work friends.

Uncle Bob, was one of the most gentle, most kind men that ever walked the face of this earth. My family is blessed to have known him and to have had him in our lives. Our three girls adored him and his playful spirit. Marnie and I are grateful for our last memory of him eating lunch with us at Cheddar's with Aunt Joyce as if nothing was wrong... It was fate that we ran into them there that day... God always knows what he is doing!!!! God rest his soul....

Bob was a wonderful friend and the sweetest soul I've ever known. May his family know that he was loved, adored and apreciated more than words could ever say. He will be missed! SHELLY GIBSON, (Debary, FL.)

There are hermit souls that live withdrawn
In the place of their self-content;
There are souls like stars, that dwell apart,
In a fellow less firmament;
There are pioneer souls that blaze the paths
Where highways never ran-
But let me live by the side of the road
And be a friend to man
I'm so sorry Joyce and family
