Roy Allen Coyle, Jr., 84, passed away on Sunday morning, June 9, 2013. Roy was born in Hamilton, OH, on October 5, 1928, to Roy Allen and Hazel Logsdon Coyle.
In Hamilton, he married the love of his life, Mildred Fugate, worked in the construction industry and raced stock cars in Indiana. He made many victory laps in his car, The 8 Ball, proudly waving the checkered flag. In 1955, he moved his family of four to Miami, Florida. There he started his own construction company building many custom homes and swimming pools in the Miami and Miami Beach area. He pursued his passion for fishing, with family and friends, regularly launching his boat and heading out The Haulover Inlet to the Gulf Stream.
In 1964, he moved his family now numbering six to Melbourne Beach, where he worked on NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) from ground up to completion. He continued to operate his construction business, building custom homes in the Melbourne Beach area, as well as commercial projects in Brevard County and Florida. In 1989, while Roy was serving as building inspector for Melbourne Beach, the original Beaujean House was discovered attached to a larger house that was being demolished. An effort made by Roy, Frank Thomas and postmaster Sam Tyson, saved the historic structure. From 1964 until his passing, Roy made Melbourne Beach his home. Many people living in this area will fondly remember and miss him.
He is survived by tow sons and two daughters, Roy Allen Coyle, III (Debbie), of Melbourne, FL, Raymond Thomas Coyle (Cindy) of Indialantic, FL, Anna Mick (Randy) of Melbourne, FL, and Pat Urbach of Melbourne, FL; two brothers, James Coyle (Mary) of Melbourne, FL, and Ronald Coyle (Trish) of Palmetto Bay, FL; and sister in law, Betty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Coyle; and brothers, Frank Coyle and Larkin Coyle. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
A memorial ceremony will be held July 20, 2013 from 10-11am at the Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach, followed by a gathering from 11am-3pm at the Melbourne Beach Community Center.

It was Ray and Roy III who I grew up around. And am so thankful Mr. "C" took interest in guiding me on the right path in life, Respect, Honesty, Family, and self improvement. What I noticed through time was when he held his grandkids, you could feel how much he loved Larkin, Rose may, and, Arminda. Ray, Roy, Anna, My heart is heavy. I feel Like a son who lost a father. Be warmed in the comfort that his Life has made others find comfort in themselves... Much Love and Respect...

So sorry to hear of your loss. My dad (Rudy Fugate) always had such a good time when he visited your family in Melbourne. I only visited Roy & Billie once, but Roy made me feel so welcome. I will be thinking of you all on the 20th. Love, Peggy (Fugate) Fitzgerald

We read in the newspaper about the loss of your Mom and Dad, and so sorry to hear it. We think back fondly of the days we lived next door to Roy in the Waterbury Apts and you introduced us to your parents, Anna lived on the boat! Roy, Ray and Anna Lee, My words cannot begin to console you. My heart is filled with such pain and regret. I loved your Father as if he were my own. When my dad passed away, he was who I had turned to so many times. I wish all the times in the last few months that when I had said, "I've got to call Uncle Roy, or " lets not forget to call Uncle Roy back. that I would have done so 10 fold, because then at least I would have been able to let him know just a few more times just how very much I loved him. I know that he knew, I guess I just would have liked more time with him. something I'm sure we all do. We, Charley, Johnathan and I, want you to know that our hearts and prayers are with you. He was loved by us so very much. Just as it was the best place on earth for me to come as a child, I made sure my kids knew the road to Uncle Roy's house too. Even though they are from a completely different generation, it was still the very best place to them as well!
