Vernon H. Davis, 88, former owner of Cocoa Brevard Paper Company, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born in Wake Forest, NC and came to Brevard County in 1960 from Tampa, FL.
Vernon was a member of the Tiger Bay Club, the Brevard Restaurant Association, a Mason, and a 32nd Degree Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; brothers, James Philip and Rufus (Buddy); sister, Jean Carson; sisters-in-law, Kathleen, Elizabeth (Lore), and Margaret; close family friend, Linda Brown; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Cecil (Bones), Foster (Bill), Joseph Jr.(JB), Richard, Wilbur (Curley), Milton (Stump) and Joyce.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 10-12 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at noon. Interment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wuesthoff Hospice Care Center.
We will all dearly miss the outgoing, generous and loving man who was at the center of the family.

I salute your veteran. I enjoyed many afternoons speaking with him of his family and service to his country.
