Charles "Bud" Gruff, 81, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. Charles was born February 15, 1933 to George and Helen Gruff in Camden, New Jersey, the youngest of 2 children. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1952 with a varsity letter in Track.

Charles served in the United States Air Force after graduation. He married his beautiful high school sweetheart, Doris Warrington, in 1953.

In 1956, Bud began his career in construction, specializing in sheet metal. He worked out of Local 19 in Philadelphia, PA, for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1992 when he relocated to Titusville, FL.

Bud served as Worshipful Master of Florence Lodge #87 in Woodbury, NJ and was a member of Gateway Masonic Lodge #384, F & A. M. in Mims, FL. He was current Grand Tall Cedar of Space Coast Forest #196 in Mims, FL and a member of the North Brevard Shrine Club. Bud loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching Westerns, fishing, camping, calling BINGO and golfing in "The Dog" every Thursday with his friends from The Great Outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, of 39 years. Bud is survived by his daughter, Debra Fleming; two sons, Charles Jr. and Stephen Gruff; grandchildren, Sierra Gruff, Savannah Gruff, Charles Gruff III; and loving companion, Carolyn Nachtrieb of 20 years who met at The Great Outdoors on Valentine's day. They enjoyed traveling the country together and visiting family. They were active volunteers for many years for the Activities Committee. They always had fun during their many trips to Disney World and especially liked dining out at their favorite restaurants. They appreciated and loved each day together.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the .
