STANLEY LEWANDOWSKI Obituary

Stanley Lewandowski - Cocoa Beach - Stanley Lewandowski, born in 1923 in Braddock, PA, passed Heavenward at 4:25 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2010, after having lived in Cocoa Beach, FL for more than 30 years. A 1945 Carnegie Institute of Technology graduate, Stanley was a well- educated, well-traveled, artistically talented man, whose intelligent passions show in his many structural designs, ranging from bridges to power plants, to work on the Boeing Launcher Umbilical Tower used by NASA for the Saturn 5 Moon Mission at Cape Canaveral; his mixed media art, ranging from silk-scarf to portraits, to abstract interpretation, to, (when his failing health would no longer permit him to paint) his memoirs, in which he considered himself a 3-part man: engineer, artist, and writer. He also had a passion for language, show tunes, and opera. Stanley's proudest achievement, however, is his "MRL Fund", a charitable trust designed to help fund immigrants and others in achieving an education. Stanley instituted this trust in honor of his mother, Marianna Rutkowska Lewandowski, mother of five, who managed to send Stanley to college in exchange for his helping her become a U.S. citizen. Stanley's achievements of which I am most proud are his natural respect and admiration of others; his in tense sense of humor; and his tenacity in developing and sharing his passions. Stanley, beloved son of Joseph and Marianna Lewandowski, had four old er sisters, three of whom are deceased: Janina Makowski, Chesteria Brunson, and my mother, Jean "Regina" Valentine. He will be missed by his beloved surviving sister, Irene (husband Bob Pigman), and their daughter, Juanita Ferrero; her daughters, Vicky and Pamela, and Stanley's son-in-law, Thomas; grandnieces, Amanda, Taylor, and Morgan, and grandniece, Dorothy Jean. He will also be missed by his cousin, John Makowski (Nancy), and numerous friends, especially Mr. Harold Gray, with whom Stanley worked for NASA, on the Saturn 5 Moon Mission Space Launcher, and "yours truly", niece, Susan Comba. Please join us in sharing Stanley's joy at Florida Memorial Gardens, S. Hwy 1, Rockledge, on Saturday, April 10th, 1 p.m. To honor Mr. Lewandowski, make donations to the MRL Fund c/o Mr. Harold Gray, 2518 Dorothy Circle, Titusville, FL 32780

I saw a painting that took my breath away. I purchased it and leaned about the artist Stanley J Lewandowski. After reading about him and his impressive achievements I am very pleased and proud owner of one oh his artistic works of the Delaware River in Lumberville PA.

Was thinking of Stanley singing showtimes and telling stories of how he helped put man on the moon. Such a sweet man
