Llewellyn Henson Obituary

Dr. Llewellyn Lafayette Henson III, of Cocoa Beach, passed away on May 2, 2012, due to illness. He was born in Barnstable, MA on July 14, 1937.

Lew gained his Ph.D. and M.S. in Library Science from Florida State University. Among his more notable positions, Lew served as Director of Libraries for Florida Institute of Technology from 1971 to 1994. Lew served as Squadron Commander in the USAF from 1961 till 1964 and had been active in the Airforce reserves. His expertise and curiosity led him, among other adventures, to live in Geneva, Switzerland and consult for CERN.

He loved the space coast and spent many hours enjoying its environment and wildlife. His wisdom, humor, and love will be truly missed.

Lew is survived by Jesse and Billy (his sons) and grandchildren, Emma (his sister), and Shadow (his cat) whom he loved dearly.

A memorial will be held on July 21st, 10:30 am, at Our Saviors Church in Cocoa Beach.
