Larry Evans Obituary

LYONS - Larry Ann Evans, 60, passed away peacefully on Friday (December 18, 2020), at Strong Memorial Hospital.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Lyons Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wayne County Historical Society, 21 Butternut St. Lyons, NY 14489, or the Geneva Theater Guild, 82 Seneca St. Geneva, NY 14456.

Larry Ann was born on October 13, 1960, in Spring Lakes, N.J. and was a daughter of the late Larry and Ann (Collins) Evans. Though she was born in Jersey, she and her parents lived in nearly every state of the U.S., traveling with the horse races. Her father bred and trained, while her mother, an artist, painted the horses. Her grandparents' home in Lyons, where she resided most recently, was where she felt most at home. She graduated from Lyons High School and went on to travel to fulfill her passion for film and theater. In her mid-twenties, she traveled to Spain. There, she worked on many films, later met her former husband, and had their son, Alex. Larry Ann served most recently as the Executive Director for the Museum of Wayne County History. She served as past president of the Geneva Theater Guild board. She was recently able to see the book published that she and her sister, Marion, wrote together. "Schwester/Sister Missed and Found" can be found on Amazon. To see it in black and white, brought her great joy. Larry Ann enjoyed science fiction, history, art and was a Spanish red wine enthusiast. Most of all, she loved her son, Alex. Larry Ann lived a life with no regrets and touched many more lives than she could have ever imagined. She was truly an icon and will be missed by all. Her legacy lives on with all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Alex (Lauren Cook) Calvo of Lyons; former husband, Ignacio Calvo of Geneva; sister, Marion Bornschier of Zurich, Switzerland; and several close friends and colleagues.

In addition to her parents, Larry Ann was predeceased by her Aunt Doll.

Larry Ann was incredibly special. She and I have been close friends for decades and she was a soul-mate to me. Ours years of Theater, Adventures, Dreams, Laughter and Tears are so very precious. Larry Ann was a true original, she had a great capacity to Love, a deep empathy for all and the wisdom of an old Soul. Her talent was incredible in everything she pursued. My Heart breaks to say goodbye to her, but I know we will meet again. I know she is Dancing with Angels. Melanie

We have lost a wonderful and caring person with many talents. I have had the pleasure of working with Larry Ann as a fellow historian for many years. Most recently she and I had been working on planning the Wayne County Bicentennial.
