Raymond William Sherman

Raymond William Sherman, 77, of Cumming died at his home on March 13, 2011. Born in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Howard and Hazel Sherman.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and was stationed in Germany where he worked on post-war surveillance maps. Raymond was a mechanical engineer and salesman with General Kinematics (a manufacturer of vibratory process equipment) of Barrington, Ill., for more than 30 years. He held five U.S. Patents for vibration equipment (used in foundries, woodchip/paper production and recycling). He also traveled widely for both business and pleasure.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Jacquelyn Sherman of Cumming; brother, Robert (Carol) Sherman of Orangevale, Calif.; sister, Lynne Sherman of Crystal Lake, Ill., children, Susan (Greg) Coe of Highlands Ranch, Calif., Judith (Bob) Evertsen of Crystal Lake, Ill.; grandchildren, Michael Coe of Arlington, Va., Kyle Coe of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Erik (Jenni) Evertsen of Crystal Lake, Ill., Lisa Evertsen and Adam Evertsen of Crystal Lake, Ill.; stepchildren, Ranee Pattison of Cumming, Mark (Susan) Pattison of Cumming, Lori Vernon (Darren Greenberg) of Stuart, Fla., Shawn Pattison of Boynton Beach, Fla; stepgrandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Andrae of Crystal Lake, Ill., Samantha Andrae (Tom Burgess) of Crystal Lake, Ill., Daniel Ruckholdt of Crystal Lake, Ill., Aaron, Elijah, Lydia and Josiah Pattison of Cumming, Mitchell Vernon of Mainville, Ohio, Hailey and Hannah Pattison of Boynton Beach, Fla.; eight step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
