Robert Nabb Obituary
Robert E. "Bob" Nabb, 93, a longtime resident of Fort Morgan, Colorado, passed away October 13, 2017 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. Bob was born January 1, 1924 to Joseph and Ruth (Kitzinger) Nabb of Clay Center, Nebraska. He was raised on the farm and attended school in Clay Center graduating from Clay Center High School in 1941. He met Dorothy Mark in Denver and they were married February 16, 1943. They lived in Trinidad and Fort Collins during the 1940's. They moved to Nebraska and lived in Fairbury during the 1950's. Bob was employed in the Hatchery and Feed business. They moved to Fort Morgan in 1961. Bob was employed by the M & S Feed and Seed Company for five years. He worked for Farmland COOP of Brush for 22 1/2 years retiring September 1, 1988. Bob served as an assistant Scout Master. He served on the city council and as Mayor of Log Lane Village from 1972 through 1980. He is a member of the United Methodist Church. A life member of the Fort Morgan Elks Lodge #1143 and was Elk for the year for the fraternal year 1985 to 1986. Bob received the Antlers award for 1998 and 99 from the Colorado State Elks Association Membership Committee. He also served as treasurer for the Elks. He is a Member of AARP. He loved to garden and do woodworking. He and Dorothy loved to dance, travel and go sightseeing. Bob was happiest when he was helping someone else by taking his garden vegetables to them or fixing or doing something for them that they needed done. Bob is survived by one brother, Lyle of Omaha, Nebraska, and one grandson, Brandon of Greeley, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy, three sons, Dale, Gary, and Larry, his parents, three brothers, Stanley, Glenn and Loren, and one sister Lucille. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Heer Mortuary Chapel at 225 E. Platte Avenue in Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Memorial Gifts may be made to the local Elks Scholarship Fund or to the COPD Foundation at 2937 SW 27th Ave., Suite 302, Miami, Florida 33133.
