JERRY J. DeLONG, 75, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Born July 29, 1942 in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was the son of the late Earl and Olive I (Vance) DeLong. On Nov. 10, 1962 he married Brenda J. Miller who preceded him in death on April 22, 2018. He retired in 2000 from Dana Corporation, Fort Wayne after 39 years of service and was Chief Steward for Union Local 7903 for 8 years. He was a member of the Euchre Bridge Club and VFW Post 587. He is survived by his children, Kevin (Kay) DeLong of New Haven, Ind., David DeLong of Leesburg, Ind, and Deborah (Rob Daughterty) Thompson of Cecil; a brother, Lon (Ann) DeLong of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Brianna, Jia, Whitney and Weston; and great-grandson, Alexander. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Darlene Cottrell, Richard and Rex Sunday. Funeral service is 3 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, Ohio, with isitation from 1 to 3 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding Township.
