Dyne's taste and love for music, and for people who likewise appreciated it, brought out an enthusiasm that reawakened how it felt to hear fresh renditions of popular twentieth century music. His friendship, kindness, talent, wit and grace are forever missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.

I am missing Dyne and thinking about him often. I only met him last year, however had many discussions with him on finances and economics - we quickly became friends. He was a client that I looked forward to meeting with. Our talks over coffee were so enjoyable, & to hear about his life was so interesting. We have lost a truly good person and I am happy I got to know & learn about him.

I was out of state the last few weeks and saddened to learn of Dyne's death. He was a neighbor and a friend. Dyne volunteered readily for our association and he was the Asst.Treasurer for many years. He was a gentleman in all ways and his smile was infectious. He will be missed as an active member of our association but more then that as a nice man and friend.

I had the pleasure of performing with Dyne several times on the Embassy stage, including the first Buddy Nolan Memorial Concert.
More than that, I had the immense pleasure of his friendship, and oh, all that glorious music. We have lost a great friend to many, and one of the most distinctive stylists at the piano I have ever heard. There are a lot more smiles and lot more great music being heard in heaven today.

I first met Dyne in 1966 when I drove up to Fort Wayne for a Buddy Nolan concert. I was captivated by his ability and repertoire on the piano but even more impressed by his quick wit and gracious generosity. He leaves an enormous void but thousands of friends are grateful for his enrichment of their lives.

I haven't seen Mr. Pfeffenberger since my graduation from IU-PU DGTS in 1976, but I still remember what a kind and patient teacher he was. Because I was an Accounting major, he taught many of my classes at DGTS. He was an excellent teacher, filling us with an enthusiasm for numbers and how they work, and always there to help when we didnt understand.
Not many like him!!!
I owe alot to him for future success in my professional life.

Quite a shock! Dyne was a great guy as well as a great organist and pianist. He was always polite and to use an old fashioned word "courtly". A real gentleman in the finest sense of the word. He will be missed and more importantly, remembered fondly by all of us.

" We will sadly miss Dyne. He was a good man and friend. We would always meet up with him every year in Auburn on Labor Day weekend to look at classic cars and watch the auction. Labor Day weekend won't be the same with him gone." Chuck Hughes & Bruce White (Muncie, IN.)

Dyne was a kind, gentle man and someone that I was proud to call a friend. I have fond memories of Dyne and his kindness. One time I was looking for the music to an old song, and Dyne came through by sending me a copy. He was one of the finest popular pianists I ever heard, and always played his arrangement of "Time on My Hands" for me whenever there was a piano around. He will be missed by many, especially his musical friends.

Dyne was a good friend to me and a very special friend indeed. Although our time together was just a little over a year I was truly blessed with the time we did share together. I will miss all the good times we had together: the memories, the music, the dinners, the laughs. A true gentlemen, I will never forget the music. We will miss him dearly!

We were Dyne's neighbors when I was a child. He was concerned about "bothering" us with his music, but little did he know that we sat next to the adjoining wall so that we could listen to him play! Later, he invited us to a party attended by many of his theater friends, and I remember a wonderful rhubarb cobbler. The world has lost a great musician, and a great person. Rest in peace, Dyne.

Although I haven't seen Dyne for over 20 years, I have fond memories of him from when we both worked at D.G.T.S. I was the secretary for the accounting department and always appreciated the kindness he showed me. I also attended a class he taught, Federal and State Taxes. He was an excellent teacher. My memory is telling me that Dyne was color blind. So, if my memory is correct, I hope that Dyne is seeing colors in heaven.

Dyne was my first-cousin-once removed (My Dad was Ray E. Wright). I will always remember his wonderful infectious smile! He used to liven-up the family Christmas parties with music each year. I regret that I never made it to Ft Wayne to see him on the big stage. He was such a great conversationalist. We rarely saw each other, were seperated by 31 years of age, but could talk for the longest time. He was a kind, wonderful, interesting man. He will be missed by many, including me! I am sure he was welcomed in Heaven!!!

As everyone knows, Dyne was a fabulous musician and a gentleman - two things that do not always show up in the same package. Unfortunately, I did not get to know Dyne as well as many others did - but, the times I spent with him proved to me that he was a real gem. I will miss him and his music greatly. I regret that we never were able to perform together - it would have been a real kick for me!

Dyne will always have a place in my heart and at our family dinner table. He was a formidable card player, and I really enjoyed playing the last 5 years as his Euchre partner. He was also my inspiration for over 25 years in both piano music and the world of accounting and auditing. I am proud to have been able to call him a member of our family, and very close friend. Rest in peace, Deenie.

I met Dyne through our membership in the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society some 10+ years ago. Once we discovered our additional mutual interest in trains and railroads, the rest is history. Often when he was in Indianapolis he would attend Mass at St. John the Evangelist, where I am the music director and organist, and he would always visit the organ gallery afterward with a compliment. I will miss his nearly-constant smile, his incredible musicianship, his zeal for friends and travel, and his dedication to the historic Embassy Theatre and to its marvelous Page theatre pipe organ. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Now there's a veritable lost book for the ages . . . all that knowledge how to play music with taste, style and finesse retained in memory alone. I'm going to miss gasping with delight every time I witnessed his delightfully deft right hand tricks. ANd such a great friend to everyone who crossed his path.

Dyne will always be remembered as a kind, laid-back, fun personality and a mighty fine musician....a lover of music and of people who loved music...generous with his time, encouraging others, letting them know he delighted in their talent...always wanting to share his enthusiasm for an obscure song gem which his audience may not yet have heard...a warm, amusing, CLASSY gentleman and a great friend.

Dyne was one of the very few true gentleman I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always so very kind and supportive of the theatre organ and its music and of people in general. He made me feel a worthy musician and that is something I will not soon forget. Dyne, you will be sorely missed, but never forgotten, old friend, and your music and legacy will live forever in our hearts. You no doubt are now with our Heavenly Father in eternal glory. Requiescat in pace.
