BARRY LEE HORMAN, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at his home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Herbert Horman and Betty Prange. Barry served as a Police Officer for a total of 36 years. He rose through the ranks throughout his career to deputy chief, retiring in 1999. Prior to moving back to Fort Wayne three years ago, he enjoyed his place at Coldwater Lake where he loved to boat, and spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking in his garage. He is survived by his wife, Rose Horman of Fort Wayne; children, Cynthia (Robert) Biddle of Palm Bay, Fla., Mark Horman of Lake City, Fla., and Michael Horman of Belle Isle, Fla.; stepchildren, Tina (Richard) Griffith of Fort Wayne, Carla (Don) Patnoude of Fort Wayne, Gene (Allison) Mutton of Oviedo, Fla., and Tonya Durnell of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Randy (Linda) Prange of Florida; and sister, Karen Powers of Florida. Service is 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton, with calling beginning at noon until time of service. Memorials may be made to the F.W.P.D.
