EARL DEWITT JR., 80, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center North. Born June 2, 1933, in Auburn, he was the son of the late Earl DeWitt and Beulah McClellan DeWitt. He married Mary Lou Shoudel on Aug. 33, 1957 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garrett. He received his certificate in welding from Ivy Tech Community College and was a Welder at International Harvester for 30 years. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion Post 178 in Garrett, and a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garrett. He is survived by his wife; sister, Jeannie Schearer; five sons, Christopher, Gary, Timothy (Dawn), Robert W. and Patrick (Jenny); six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pattie Lou. His body has been donated to the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program. Memorials can be sent to St. Martin's Clothing Closet or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Garrett, Ind.
