GARY BROWN, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at home. Born Sept. 5, 1950, in Marion, Ind., he was a son of the late James and Betty (Langer) Brown. He worked for the Fort Wayne Fire Department for 24 years before retiring. He served in the Indiana Air National Guard for 20 years. In 1983, he was a founding member of the local Make-A-Wish Foundation which later became Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana. Surviving family include his wife, Terra Brown; children, Brett Brown, Michael (Kirsten) Brown and Krista VanArman; grandchildren, Haley, Tristen, Bailey, Chase, and Aviana; brothers, Ronald (Marsha) Brown and Richard (Bobbi) Brown; a sister, Gloria Merrill; and his beloved pet, Tanner. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. A private family burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
