ROBERT "BOB" GLENN FANSLER, received a big promotion on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019. After running the race for 91 years he finally gets to kick up his heels in heaven. Following a fall on the ice in the bitter cold, he peacefully went to be with his Lord surrounded by prayers, singing, scripture and encouragement voiced by his loving family. The love of his life was his wife Violet "Vi" who ministered by his side for almost 70 years. Bob pastored six churches throughout Indiana and Michigan, later becoming the International Youth Director and eventually Central District Superintendent for the Missionary Church. Bob and Vi's family has grown to 35: son, Jim (Angie) have three married kids, Drew (Christine), Brian (Darcy) and Libby (Jacob Koch); daughter, Debi (Dennie) Doud have two married kids, Brennan (Cassie) and Aubree (Brent) Leuthold; son, Jerry (Mary) have four kids, Joshua, Jason, Megan (Matt Ralf) and Jonathan (Caroline); and son, Dave (Dawn) have a daughter, Rebecca. Bob and Vi have seven great-grandkids, Daphne, Owen, Henry, Jack, Eli, Levi, and Jonah. Funeral service is noon Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at at The Chapel, 2505 West Hamilton Road South, Fort Wayne (IN 46814) with calling two hours prior from 10 a.m. to noon. My deepest condolences to the Fansler family. I have such warm memories of dinners at the Fansler home. I still have and use Vi's punch recipe. Though it has been more than 35 years, I can still see Bob's face lighting up in laughter. We used to have the best fun teasing one another. So sorry for your loss. It will be a blessed reunion one day.

Sending love and prayers to Vi, Jim, Deb, Jerry and Dave and their families. Aubree, we loved the kind, sweet spirit of your beloved Grandpa. He always made us feel so welcome in their home when we visited Fort Wayne. We absolutely loved listening to the stories he told of each family member pictured in the gallery on his office walls. He was so proud of his beautiful family! He will surely be missed.

Judy and I have known Bob and Vi for over 40 years and have wonderful memories of serving with them in the Missionary Church. Bob was a mentor for me when I was Vice District Superintendent and we walked through many challenges together. We have fond memories of the "Pastors and Wives" retreats with Bob and Vi. We are wintering in Florida and will be unable to be at the calling or funeral. May the Lord's peace and presence be very real to your entire family during this time of loss and celebration.
