Obituary

GOLDA BERNICE PIERCE, 83, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, Ind. Born in Albany Ky., she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Vida H. Melton. Bernice graduated from Albany High School in 1955 and Fort Wayne Commercial College in 1961. She has been a resident of Fort Wayne for the past 67 years. Bernice was an avid gardener and loved tending to her flower garden. She worked at Magnovox and later Raytheon for 34 years as an Engineer's Assistant. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret "Maggie" (Terry) Karst of Churubusco, Ind., Connie (Steve) Alles of Monroeville, Ind., Debra Pierce of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brothers, Danny C. (Donna) Melton, Donnie Melton; and a sister, Margie (Bobbie) Graham, all of Kentucky; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Mungovan Simple Funeral Home, 2114 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Ind., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
