JAMES O. "JIM" MILLS, 88, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., James was the son of the late Carl and Alma Mills. James was a farmer and worked at Dana for over 35 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement from Dana he worked for Ivy Tech in its automotive field for 25 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. James enjoyed fishing, being at Barton Lake, traveling, and attending all his children and grandchildren's activities. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Mills of Fort Wayne; children, Karen (Gene) Quinn of Fort Wayne, Roy (Mary) Mills of Ashland, Va., Albert (Jo) Mills, Marcia (Dale) Johnson, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Byler, Nick (Megan) Beeching, Heather (Daniel) Puff, Jennifer (Victor) Neimeyer, Bryan (Emily) Mills, Michelle (Chris) Ravenscroft, Brandon (Bree) Mills, Casey (Camille) Johnson, Josh Mills, Kirsten Johnson; and 12 great-grandchildren. James was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Reed. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Rev. Steven Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling also from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
