MAURICE LOMBARDO, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 7, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Maurice graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962. He attended IPFW and served in the Air National Guard. Maurice worked in the automotive industry in sales for over 50 years including International Harvester, Kelley Chevrolet, Jasper Trucks and Summit City Chevrolet. He also owned Lombardo International in Topeka, Kan., and was a stockbroker for seven years. Maurice was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved going to the casino and spending time at Jimmerson Lake and Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., visiting friends and family. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Jean Lombardo; daughters, Amanda (Mick) Thiel and Stacie Childers, both of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Camdyn Childers, Mallory and Makenna Thiel, all of Fort Wayne; sister, Madeline Lombardo of Fort Wayne; and brother, Andrew Lombardo Jr. of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews that brought him much joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rose Lombardo; and brother, Frank Lombardo. Mass of Christian Burial is 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life immediately following at Ceruti's Catering 6601 Innovation Blvd., Fort Wayne.
