MAX A. FUELLING, 71, of Decatur, died on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, 7:30 a.m., at his sister-in-law's residence in Fort Wayne. Born July 28, 1947, in Decatur, he was a son of the late Paul Fuelling and Marie K. (Goeglein) Fuelling. He married Pamela Kay Hirschy on Oct. 25, 1969, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Decatur. Max was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Decatur, where he had served in many capacities over the years. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1965 and received a tool and die degree from General Electric Apprentice School. He was employed at General Electric in Decatur until it's closing. Following GE, Max worked at Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne for over 20 years. Max enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters and great-grandson. He was also an avid bicycle rider and jogger and enjoyed watching IU basketball. Max and Pam enjoyed traveling and developed many lifelong friendships along the way. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Pam Fuelling of Decatur; daughter, Nichole Kelly of Fort Wayne; brothers, Frank Fuelling of New Haven, Ind., George Fuelling of Decatur and Donald (Marian) Fuelling of St. Louis Park, Minn.; sister, Louann Wolfe of Decatur; two granddaughters, Morghan (John) James and Madelyn Moser; and great-grandchild, Carson James. Max was also preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Fuelling; and a sister, Kathryn Fuelling in infancy. Service is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Leonard Tanksley officiating. Visitation also from noon to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur.
