MICHAEL F. SHROYER, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at home after battling cancer. His Journey began on July 16, 1946, in Massillon, Ohio. He worked for 42 years at Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor. Michael served in the Marines and was a Vietnam War veteran from 1966 to 1968. He was an avid car enthusiast and loved to build street rods. His attention to detail was impeccable. He was extremely talented in his trade that he loved. He loved his family and had many friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Shroyer; son, Michael D. (Daphne) Shroyer; daughters, Michele L. (Ryan) Fueling, Nicole J. (Gary) Pilling, Denise R. Burnworth, and Karla Scribner; and brothers, Pat (Barbara J.) Shroyer and Brian Shroyer; sister, Charlene (Wilfredo) Santos. He also loved his 11 grandchildren who brought him much joy and happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Esther Shroyer; brother, John Shroyer; and grandparents, Fenton and Lucille Goff. He will be very missed by all of his family and lifetime friends. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 4602 Newaygo Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46808), with military honors at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials to Visiting Nurses Hospice.
