PAUL KENNETH SHIVE, 91, of Grand Island, Fla., passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016. Born in Fort Wayne, he worked as a draftsman for General Electric for 40 years. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, Fla. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joan Shive of Grand Island; daughter, Sue (Don) Basta of Grand Island; son, Mike (Betty) Shive of Rochester Hills, Mich.; daughters, Linda (Gary) Fensler of Tavares, Fla. and Sandy (Keith) Thomas of Fairfield, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brother, John (Joan) Shive of Grand Island; and sister, Sharon Richards of Sheridan, Ind. Funeral mass is noon Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1101 S. Lafayette, Fort Wayne, with Father Phillip Widmann officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
