ROBERT "BOB" MATTINGLY, 82, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Kennerk) Matting ly. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 330, New Haven. Bob retired from International Harvester in 1985 after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, a good hand of cards, and was a local sports enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Lothamer) Mattingly; daughter, Sue Bunnell of New Haven; grandchildren, Joel (Brittany) Bunnell of New Haven and Leesa Bunnell of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Wren Bunnell and "Baby" Bunnell (due soon); sister-in-law, Doris Mattingly of Angola; nieces and nephews, Pat, Zack, Kathryn and Jackie; and trusted friends, Shorts and Russ. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and William "Bill" (his twin) Mattingly; son-in-law, John Bunnell; granddaughter, Lindsey Bunnell; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J. Tom and Darlene Lothamer. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven, with visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to service. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers and plants, preferred memorials are to St. Johns School, New Haven or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
