SHERRI M. "DJ MARTINA" TURNER, 59, Indianapolis, Ind., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. Born Dec. 16, 1959, and raised in Fort Wayne, Sherri graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in 1978. In 1981, she moved to Indianapolis where she worked in the starch ship business for 36 years and as a DJ for over 20 years in various clubs, such as Homer's and the Famous Grand Night Club. Sherri always gave the crowd music "From a Woman's Point of View". Sherri loved to laugh and make others laugh all of the time. She was well known for her OCD of matching her many clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry. She was a colorful person with a personality to match. Her smile was infectious and will be missed by many. Survivors include her brother, Matthew Turner II of Kentucky; sister, Eileen Turner of Ohio; and her bonus sister, Kristy Dowdy of Indianapolis (from the Big Sisters & Brothers Program). Sherri opted not to have services, as she wanted everyone to remember her as they last saw her. A memorial matinee in her honor is from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at the Famous Grand Night Club, 5462 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, Ind. Final Arrangements by Dixon Memorial Chapel & Cremation Service, 1910 Belleview Place, Indianapolis (IN 46222).
